I'm getting that working for me and then will update this page. Here are notes on what makes dedicated servers work with Steam. If you try to short cut any of this process it simply won't work. It is not a matter of just flipping a switch in your game, you have to get steam configured correctly too. There are two aspects to a dedicated server that make the term confusing.
Allow me to elaborate: after 3 days we as of yet are unable to connect to our dedicated server and play the game. This leads us to suspect UE4 is the culprit here. Connecting commands seem to do nothing. We cannot connect and no relevant info can be found in the game logs. At this point we can only pray somebody helps us out of this pit of despair. Thank you for your time.
We are in the following situation: Our game has a Dedicated Game Server, which registers with the Steam Master server. The games client finds the sessions and can connect successfully. If this server is started in a Game Lift Fleet, I can set up a connection via the Game Lift commands, but the server does not register anymore on Steam or can not be reached via Steam. Some services require communication from the game client to the game server to be encrypted. To assist with establishing this secure channel, Amazon GameLift provides a mechanism to deliver information like encryption keys directly to the game server. Can anybody help me? I confirmed UE4 steam dedicated server is working on gamelift.
More results. I've been trying to get Steam dedicated servers to work for some time now and all the resources online are for older versions that seem outdated. Attachments: Up to 5 attachments including images can be used with a maximum of 5.
